8 x 10 Tasveer – A Review

8 x 10 Tasveer – A Review
Reviews warned me not to waste hard earned 120 bucks on this crap, especially in the times of recession. But what else is there to see in this abysmal period that the Bollywood is in. So my advice to anyone who still has time & money to waste in the weekend, better hire a DVD of Taken or Watchmen to see better crap.

What is this with all Hindi filmmakers who think future watching must be a great formula to make a good thriller. It might be true if pacing is correct & it binds the viewer till the end. Aa dekhen Jara , tasveer & the next week upcoming movie Kal Kissne dekha all seem to have the same convoluted storyline Ctrl C Ctrl V’ed from some Hollywood thriller back in 90’s.

Now , something about the movie if you are still reading the piece. Jai (Akshay Kumar ) plays a Forest Ranger working for EPS ( Environment Protection service ) with a setup in Canada , who has estranged links with his family as his father is a business tycoon with Oil fields or whatever . Now, his father is killed in a freak drowning accident even after being an excellent swimmer. Jai only has a photograph of his father with his friends to work on .

To utter amazement to viewers, Akshay has a gift of getting inside the picture to find out the history behind it. Even if you are able to suppress the over the top theories the film provides, you would be disappointed to know that the movie which was running helter skelter till the climax comes which is one of the freakiest in the recent history.

Catch the movie if you are a diehard fan of Akshay ( If you are , you probably won’t bother to read this ). My advice : save money , or donate to EPS !

  1. Well, i am not a movie freak but yes i am a fan of Akshay. I find his acting very natural and free flowing. Unlke Shahrukh, he seldom over acts.

His last movie 'Chandni Chowk to China' was a pathetic movie. For the first time, i hated him for his acting. Still I had to see the whole movie as i was in a video coach while travelling from Delhi to Manali.

I know your taste, so i rely on your review. Certainly i will not watch this film and will ask my friends to read your review before watching this movie.
